Skyesports Official: Cancel all first-tier events from 2025 to 2026

Skyesports, the organizer of the Indian CS2 tournament, issued an announcement on Tuesday, confirming the cancellation of the 2025 Skyesports Masters and all planned first-line tournaments in 2026.

Skyesports explained in a statement that this move marks a significant shift in strategy for the organizers. "Our future focus will shift to optimizing the secondary and grassroots tournament systems, creating easier entry opportunities for emerging teams and establishing a sustainable path to top-tier tournaments," the statement read.

As a first step in this strategic shift, Skyesports has confirmed it will invest in hosting more secondary CS2 tournaments. Their first project will be the Chennai Esports Global Championship (CEGC), which has received support from the Tamil Nadu government.

Skyesports concluded: "We remain steadfastly committed to the growth of Counter-Strike 2 and the development of a sustainable secondary tournament ecosystem that addresses critical gaps in the current system and provides teams with opportunities to climb the rankings and reach higher levels of competition."

It's worth noting that this isn't the first time Skyesports has faced tournament cancellations or other issues. Earlier this year, Skyesports was forced to cancel the Skyesports Memorial Tournament after Valve failed to respond to a schedule adjustment request. Last year, they were unable to resolve technical issues, ultimately leading BetBoom to withdraw from the Skyesports tournament, citing "unmet commitments."
