BIG official: Krimbo is demoted to the bench and FreeZe is activated as the team commander

The German CS2 professional team BIG officially announced on Tuesday that Karim Moussa (ID: Krimbo) will be relegated to the bench starting today.

The 23-year-old Krimbo, a team leader, has played for numerous Counter-Strike teams, including Planetkey Dynamics, EURONICS, ALTERNATE aTTaX, and cowana. He also served twice as a member of BIG Academy, the team's youth academy, before becoming an active member in March 2022.

To date, Krimbo has played 789 maps and 18,958 rounds for BIG, achieving a KAST rate of 73.2% and an average rating of 1.10. He was a key player in BIG's three-game victory over FaZe in the 2022 Roobet Cup finals.

BIG COO Roman Reinhart explained the decision to demotion Krimbo: "After thorough discussions with Karim, we have unanimously decided that he will temporarily step down from the main roster. Regardless of his future path, I have no doubt he will continue to succeed at the highest level. We are deeply grateful for his years of dedication and the professional standards he has set."

"He has our sincere gratitude and full support," Reinhardt reiterated. "As the team grows, we will continue to maintain open and transparent communication, working together for the team and the community."

BIG also confirmed that 30-year-old Johannes Wodarz (ID: tabseN) has stepped down as the team's in-game leader. He will remain on the main roster and transition to a rifler. As for the vacant in-game leader position, BIG confirmed that 27-year-old academy player Lukas Hegmann (ID: FreeZe) will take over. Reinhardt stated, "FreeZe will bring a new structure and perspective to our tactical leadership system, and tabseN's role adjustment will ensure that he continues to play a central role in our strategic execution, drawing on his extensive experience and dedication to BIG."
