Ruud van Nistelrooy said his players deserved the win and was proud of the team's three points

Leicester City manager Ruud van Nistelrooy said he was very proud of his team's victory against Tottenham Hotspur and the three points they took.

"I'm proud of the team, I'm proud of their performance," coach Ruud van Nistelrooy said after the game. "The spirit and character they showed in every phase of the game was great and they got an important win away from home."

"They were very consistent in their performance mentally, emotionally and footballingly. Also, to come away from Tottenham 1-0 down was a great achievement, especially after a couple of weeks of losses."

"I think in the seven losses I only criticised our attitude in the second half against Fulham because our confidence dropped after they scored. In the other games they gave their all as a team.

"Thankfully they've started to do that now and we've had a great week on the training ground and the players are in great shape. So I'm really happy for them to get the three points because I think they deserved it."

Bobby Reid played a major role in both goals, first crossing in to equalise and then finding a teammate to score. Ruud van Nistelrooy praised the contribution of that player and the other scorers.

Ruud van Nistelrooy said: "The team started well in the second half. Although we were 0-1 behind our opponents, the players were calm at the end of the half. I think our way of playing and strategy were correct."

"Bobby Reid played really well, both with and without the ball. The two assists were very important to the victory, and his experience and leadership are very helpful to the team. It's a great feeling when he works with the players to improve something. When the team scores, I'm really happy. For me, that's the best photo."
