Como announced on its official website on Tuesday that the club has extended the contract of its French attacking midfielder Lucas da Cunha.
According to Como's official statement, da Cunha has signed on a long-term four-and-a-half-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2029.
After completing his contract extension procedures, da Cunha, who was interviewed by Como's official website again, said: "I am really happy. As a player and a man, Como has made me grow continuously, and I am proud to continue to be a member of this club. Now, I feel at home in Como."
About Lucas da Cunha
Da Cunha, who is only 23 years old, was born in Roanne, France on June 9, 2001. He is 1.74 meters tall and primarily plays as an attacking midfielder. He can also play as a left winger. He has dual nationalities of France and Portugal.
Da Cunha played for the youth academy of local clubs in Roanne when he was a child. He joined the Rennes youth academy in 2016. He started playing for the Rennes B team in 2018 and completeld his Rennes first-team debut in a Coupe de la Ligue in December.
In September 2020, Da Cunha moved to Nice for €100,000, but was immediately loaned-out to its sister team Lausanne-Sports.
After returning to the club following his loan spell in the summer of the following year, Da Cunha officially became a member of the Nice first-team.
During his time with the Les Aiglons, Da Cunha reached the Coupe de France final once with the club.
In January 2022, Da Cunha was loaned-out to Clermont, during which he helped the club successfully avoid relegation.
In January of the following year, Da Cunha joined Como for €500,000.
Since becoming a member of Como, Da Cunha has played 71 times for the newly promoted Serie A club in all competitions so far, scoring 10 goals and providing 8 assists.
