Lecce announced on its official website on Tuesday that the club has signed Portuguese defender Danilo Veiga from Estrela da Amadora.

According to the Serie A club's official statement, Veiga has signed on a short-term two-and-a-half-year deal which will only run until the summer of 2027. At the same time, he will also wear the No. 17 jersey.

About Danilo Veiga

Danilo Veiga, who is only 22 years old, was born in Gondomar, Portugal on September 25, 2002. He is 1.83 meters tall and primarily plays as a right back. He can also play as a center back and defensive midfielder. He has dual Portuguese and Brazilian nationality.

Veiga played for Porto's youth academy when he was a child. In 2020, he moved to the Paços de Ferreira youth academy, but was released the following year.

After leaving Paços de Ferreira, Veiga joined the non-league club Felgueiras as a free agent and completed his Felgueiras first-team debut in August 2021.

After leaving the club at the end of his contract the following summer, Veiga joined Gil Vicente as a free agent.

In January 2023, Veiga joined Rijeka as a free agent.

In July 2024, Veiga joined Estrela da Amadora for €600,000.
