Santos announced on its official website on Saturday that Brazil international forward Neymar has officially returned to the club as a free agent.
According to Santos' official statement, Neymar has signed on a short-term six-month deal with the club which will only run until this summer, and he will play again in the No. 10 jersey.
In order to welcome Neymar's return, Santos fans have been waiting for him at the airport and outside the stadium for several days. The club even held a grand presentation ceremony for the country's football superstar with the theme of "The Prince is Back".
About Neymar
Neymar, 32, was born on February 5, 1992 in Mogi das Cruzes, Brazil. He is 1.75 meters tall and primarily plays as a left winger, but he can also play as an support striker or attacking midfielder.
Neymar joined Santos' youth academy since he was a child, and completed his Santos first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in March 2009.
During his five-and-a-half-year spell with Santos, Neymar won the Copa do Brasil once, the Campeonato Paulista three times, the Copa Libertadores once and the Recopa Sudamericana once with the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A giants. During his four-year spell with the Blaugrana, Neymar won the La Liga twice, the Copa Del Rey three times, the Supercopa de España once, the UEFA Champions League once and the FIFA Club World Cup once with the club, as well as forming the "MSN Forward Trio" with Leo Messi and Luis Suarez, whose goalscoring efficiency was so high that it was terrifying.
In August 2017, Neymar joined Paris Saint-Germain for €220 million, becoming the most expensive striker in the history of football after Kylian Mbappe.
During his six-year spell with Les Parisiens, Neymar won the Ligue 1 five times, the Coupe de France three times, the Trophée des Champions three times, the Coupe de la Ligue twice, and reached the UEFA Champions League final once with the club.
