Tundra Esports swept Yandex to win the BLAST Slam V championship.

Tundra Esports once again proved its dominance in the BLAST Slam series, sweeping Team Yandex 3-0 in the BLAST Slam V Grand Finals in Chengdu to win its fourth consecutive BLAST series championship.

Tundra's rise in the BLAST series can be traced back to Slam I in 2024, where they finished as runners-up. However, starting with Slam II, they embarked on a championship path, successively defeating Gaimin Gladiators and Team Falcons, and in this final, they defeated Yandex to lift the trophy once again.

Despite Tundra's lackluster performance and early exit from the playoffs at PGL Wallachia S6 two weeks ago, which drew criticism, they quickly adjusted their form in this tournament. Tundra topped their group with an impressive 10-1 record, losing only one map to Falcons.

The top two spots in the group stage secured their direct entry into the semifinals, where they defeated MOUZ, the winner of Wallachia S6, 2-0, advancing strongly into the championship match.

There were high expectations for a final showdown between Tundra and Falcons, but Falcons were surprisingly eliminated by Team Yandex, finishing in a tie for third place. Yandex's underdog performance sparked discussion and added uncertainty to the finals.

However, experience and execution allowed Tundra to maintain control of the pace in the finals. The three matches ended in 52 minutes, 49 minutes, and 39 minutes respectively, demonstrating their dominance on this crucial stage.

This championship is particularly significant because Tundra underwent important roster adjustments in the new season, bringing in two new members, Ari and Pure, yet still managed to maintain top-tier strength.

Although Yandex missed out on the championship, the team's progress was still widely recognized. Formed only six months prior, and after several roster changes, they brought in Watson, Malady, and veteran player Saksa this season. BLAST Slam V marked their first appearance in a major tournament finals, and their third podium finish in team history.

With the conclusion of BLAST Slam V, Tundra has once again solidified its status as the king of the BLAST series with a four-peat, laying a strong foundation for the new season.
