Desmond Barnes was fined $35,000 by the NBA for throwing the ball at an opponent.

The NBA announced that Orlando Magic guard Desmond Bane has been fined $35,000 for improperly throwing the ball at New York Knicks forward OG Anunoby during a game.

This incident occurred in the fourth quarter of the Knicks' 106-100 victory over the Magic on December 7, with 6 minutes and 13 seconds remaining, when Barn was called for a technical foul.

Anunoby was on a fast break when, facing a double-team from two Magic players, he lost his balance and fell out of bounds after the ball was knocked away. The ball, which was stuck under the basket, was picked up by Barn, who, without hesitation, threw it directly at the fallen Anunoby, instantly escalating the tension on the court.

Anuno stepped up and shoved Barn from behind, but the referee and teammates from both sides quickly intervened and resolved the conflict. The league later ruled that Barn's behavior was unsportsmanlike and fined him.

Although the two exchanged a brief greeting in the center of the field after the game, seemingly putting the conflict behind them, the incident still sparked heated discussions among fans. It's worth noting that this is not the first time Barn has caused controversy this season due to similar behavior.

Back on November 4, during the Magic's game against the Atlanta Hawks, Barnes committed a serious foul and threw the ball at Onyeka Okongu, who was lying on the ground. As a result, he received a flagrant foul and a technical foul and was ejected from the game.

Barne has had a stellar season, but his on-court emotional management has repeatedly become a point of contention. With two incidents continuing to escalate, the outside world is beginning to wonder whether the league will further regulate such dangerous behavior.
