Counter Strike 2: BIG reportedly interested in signing Fnatic In-Game Leader blameF..

Dust2 reported on Thursday that German Counter Strike 2 powerhouse BIG is reportedly interested in signing blameF, the In-Game Leader of the long-established Eastern European powerhouse Fnatic.

According to the report, this rumour has been circulating throughout the German Counter Strike 2 esports scene since early November, and journalists have confirmed its veracity after a month of investigation.

Sources revealed that since 2023, with frequent player poaching by other clubs, BIG's reputation has suffered not only in Germany but also globally, even showing signs of turmoil, leading to frequent large-scale roster changes.

With the contract of their current In-Game Leader and former assistant coach, FreeZe, expiring, BIG has decided to find a replacement, and blameF has become the management's top choice.

If this transfer goes through, it will mean the end of blameF's 18-month career with Fnatic, and also the end of his and fear's seven-month stint as In-Game Leader.

This also means that BIG's roster will take another step towards internationalization, following the signing of Belarusian AWP-er wonderkid gr1ks from HEROIC in October.

Furthermore, Fnatic veteran KRIMZ will inevitably face scrutiny for tacitly allowing instability in his team's leadership.

As of now, insiders have not been able to accurately predict whether Fnatic will choose to promote another Ukrainian player from their academy to the main team, or like BIG, sign an foreigner to fill the void left after blameF's departure.

In fact, since tabseN revealed in October that he intended to handover his In-Game Leader duties, many have speculated that the team would experience significant uncertainty. And the situation has indeed developed as predicted.

Since FreeZe took over as In-Game Leader, aside from winning the Chennai Esports Global Championship and CCT Season 3 European Series #12, his individual performances has been very poor. During this period, he played a total of 40 maps, with an average rating of only 0.85.
