Former Flash Wolves (FW) Taiwanese ace jungler Hung Hau-hsuan (ID: Karsa) has announced his retirement on Wednesday via his official YouTube channel, ending his 12-year professional career as League of Legends esports player.
In his official video, Karsa said although he is "saying goodbye" to his professional gaming career, his story with professional League of Legends esports "will continue."
Reflecting on his illustrious career, Karsa added that he is grateful to his mother, girlfriend, fans, teammates, and coaches who supported him through both highs and lows, allowing him to fully enjoy every moment on the competitive stage.
About Hung Hau-hsuan
The 28-year-old Hung Hau-hsuan, whose ID is Karsa, was born on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1997, in Chiayi City, Taiwan. He began his professional League of Legends esports career in 2014, playing as a jungler and known for his team-oriented playstyle that dictates the pace of the game.
Karsa's professional career began with Machi, before joining Flash Wolves (FW) in 2015.
During his two-year spell with Flash Wolves, Karsa helped the team achieve a top-4 finish at the 2017 Mid-Season Invitational, despite losing to LCK powerhouse T1. This performance catapulted him to fame overnight.
However, he was briefly suspended that same year for leaving the game without permission, violating the rules.
After his contract expired in January of the following year, Karsa joined Royal Never Give Up (RNG) after his suspension ended.
During his stint with RNG, Karsa helped the team win one Mid-Season Invitational title, one LPL Spring Split title, and one LPL Summer Split title, and achieved a top-8 finish at the 2018 World Championship.
These outstanding performances earned him two selections to the LPL All-Pro Second Team and two selections to the All-Pro Third Team.
In December 2019, Karsa joined Top Esports (TES).
During his time with TES, Karsa won one Mid-Season Invitational title and one LPL Summer Split title.
In December 2021, Karsa transferred to the Macau club Victory Five (V5).
The following December, Karsa joined Weibo Esports (WBG). During his time there, he helped the team achieve a third-place finish in the LPL Spring Split.
In December 2023, Karsa transferred to CTBC Flying Oyster (CTBC).
During his time there, he helped the team achieve a runner-up finish in the League of Legends World Championship.
In December 2024, Karsa joined PSG TALON.
During his time there, he helped this now-defunct team reach the finals of the LCP Season Kickoff, but ultimately lost to his former team CTBC, finishing as runner-up.
