AC Milan said in an official statement on Tuesday that Chelsea's Portugal international forward João Félix has joined the club on-loan.
According to the Serie A giants' official statement, Félix will play for the club on-loan until the end of this season, and the loan agreement does not include a buyout clause. At the same time, he will also wear the No. 79 jersey.
About João Félix
João Félix, 25, was born on November 10, 1999 in Viseu, Portugal. He is 1.81 meters tall and primarily plays as a center forward. He can also play as a left winger. His younger brother Hugo is a Portugal U21s international attacking midfielder and currently plays for Benfica.
Félix joined the Os Pestinhas youth academy at the age of 7, and joined the Porto youth academy the following year. During this spell, he was loaned to the Padroense youth academy.
After being released by Porto in 2014, Félix joined the youth academy of arch-rivals Benfica the following year. He began to play for the Benfica B team in September 2016 and completed his Benfica first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in August 2018.
As soon as he debuted, Félix was highly praised for his outstanding performances, where he has won the Portuguese Primeira Liga with the club.
In July 2019, Félix joined Atlético Madrid for €126 million.
During his time with Los Colchoneros, Félix has been criticized for his inconsistent performances and falling out with head coach Diego Simeone. Nevertheless, he still won the La Liga once with the club.
In August 2022, Félix was loaned-out to Chelsea, but was named one of the worst players of the year by the media due to his poor performances.
Last summer, Félix was loaned-out to Barcelona, where he performed relatively well.
In August 2024, Félix returned to Chelsea for €50 million.
During the first-half of the season, Félix has played 20 times for the Premier League giants in all competitions, scoring 7 goals and assisting 2 times.
