Lebrides: Players are eager to get better every day.

Newly promoted Sunderland will travel to face Brentford in the next round of the Premier League, and manager Lebrides said that every game is a new beginning, adding that the players have high expectations of themselves and are eager to get better every day.

Sunderland drew 1-1 with Tottenham Hotspur in their last league match after a goal from Bryan Brobby. With four consecutive draws, Sunderland sits in 8th place in the standings with 30 points, still considered one of the dark horses of the season.

As for Brentford, the Bees beat Everton 4-2 in their last match, with 24-year-old Igor Thiago scoring a hat-trick.

Sunderland manager Lebrides said, "We still have a lot of new things to explore because we are new to this league. Rather than saying the road ahead is difficult, we are more willing to do our best and improve our way of playing. Maybe we can surprise a lot of people in the league, but every game is like a new restart, a brand new beginning."

“We’re not entirely sure where we’ll end up, but the players have high expectations of themselves and they’re eager to improve every day. For example, they get very upset after two or three poor practices. The team’s growth depends on both the work of our coaching staff and whether the players can show something new. This is a positive sign, and we hope to get 40 points as soon as possible, and then we’ll see what happens.”

Furthermore, when discussing their opponents Brentford, Lebrides said, "They are a very good team. Keith Andrews has done a very good job, and they have a distinctive style and consistent performance. They have a clear team philosophy, so this will be a very tough challenge."
