For the Heat, Powell scored 21 points and Herro had 17 , but it wasn't enough to change the outcome of the game.

The Timberwolves started the game with a three-pointer to take the lead, but the Heat continued their offensive onslaught, widening the gap to as much as 9 points midway through the first quarter. The Timberwolves rallied to close the gap, but still trailed 27-29 at the end of the first quarter . In the second quarter, the Timberwolves relied on consecutive scores from Edwards and McDaniels to quickly take the lead and establish a roughly 7- point advantage. The Heat fought back tenaciously, but the Timberwolves still led 61-54 at halftime .

After switching sides, the Timberwolves narrowed the gap to around 5 points. Then, the Timberwolves launched an offensive surge, extending their lead to double digits. At the end of the third quarter, the Timberwolves firmly controlled the game, leading 93-77 . In the final quarter, the Timberwolves completely took over the game, quickly widening the gap to over 30 points, effectively ending any suspense in the game early on. Ultimately, the Timberwolves defeated the Heat 122-94.
