Jordan Ayew: It was an incredibly tough game, but the important thing is that we won.

Jordan Ayew scored a crucial goal against West Bromwich Albion, potentially signaling a resurgence in his form. In that match, Ayew was Leicester City's first goalscorer. Abdel Fattah's brilliant 94th-minute goal prevented Karan Grant from scoring, denying West Bromwich Albion an equalizer.  

It was a cold and tough night for Leicester City, with temperatures below freezing. The visitors created most of their chances in the second half, but Matty Sifuentes' team remained competitive and secured all three points late in the game.  

Furthermore, the team's disappointing away defeat to Sheffield United on New Year's Day interrupted the good momentum they had built up for the start of the 2025 season after their home win against Derby County.

Jordan Ayew's goal in the 18th minute rewarded Leicester City's good start at the King Power Stadium. Despite some changes in the second half, Jordan Ayew remains confident that his team has the ability to maintain a more consistent performance in the future.  

Jordan Ayew continued, “We fought hard, won several second balls, and even took the game into the opponent's half at one point. We are a great team, capable of playing excellent football, but we need more confidence. When we start to pass and combine in an organized manner, no one can stop us. Therefore, we need to maintain this momentum and keep working hard. Although there are still many areas for improvement, we will continue to strive for it.”  

Speaking about goalkeeper Jakub Stolarczek's performance, Jordan Ayew said, "He played exceptionally well today, which is exactly what we expected. I'm really happy for him, and the whole team is happy for him. Hopefully, he can maintain this form."  

Finally, Jordan Ayew spoke about Abdul Fatau's volley in the 95th minute that sealed the victory for his team, saying: "That's Abdul Fatau for you, he's incredibly talented. While his performances can sometimes be a little disappointing, he's still young. We, the more experienced players, need to keep giving him confidence and helping him continue to work hard and perform at his best."
