LeBron James shocked by Anthony Davis trade

The Los Angeles Lakers traded Anthony Davis to the Dallas Mavericks, and LeBron James admitted it took him two days to get over the shock.

James has been partnering with Davis for five and a half years. When he learned that his friend Davis was leaving the team, James admitted that he thought it was a joke.

After the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 122-97, James was interviewed and mentioned that he heard the news of Davis' trade while having dinner with his family last Saturday night. James said: "I was completely out of control at the time."

"When I first heard the news, I thought it must be fake news, maybe someone was playing a prank or joking. But then Davis called me on video and we talked for a long time."

"Even after I hung up the phone, it still felt unreal to me. It wasn't until I met Luka today and saw Davis practice with the Dallas Mavericks that I really realized it was real."

Regarding his new partner Luka Doncic, James said: "Luka has always been my favorite NBA player. I hope to play the right way and inspire the next generation of players, and Luka is one of them. Now, we have become teammates, so this will be a very smooth transition."

As the NBA trade deadline approaches, James has made it clear that he will remain with the Los Angeles Lakers. When asked by a reporter if he was worried that the team's future focus would be on young players, the 40-year-old James showed magnanimity and replied, "What's the problem?"

"If I had concerns, I would have waived my no-trade option and walked away from here. Listen, I'm still here, I'm still loyal to the Los Angeles Lakers, and I'm going to do my best to help Luka and Maximilian make this transition."
