American esports club NRG announced on Monday via its official X (Twitter) account that it will officially return to the professional League of Legends esports scene in 2026.
According to NRG's official statement, the club has completed the acquisition of DarkZero Dragonsteel.
From today onwards, its NACL team will compete under the NRG banner.
NRG said that the everyone at the club is thrilled with this new beginning and firmly believes the team has the potential to make a significant contribution to the Tier 2 league and strive for a return to the LCS.
Through a collaboration with esports data statistics and research institution SIDO, the club has essentially finalized its core roster. This roster is currently undergoing a period of integration; however, the team lacks a coach.
Anyone passionate about League of Legends esports who believes they are fully capable of coaching a team, as well as constantly motivating and challenging young players to better themselves is welcome to submit their resume and apply to become the team's coach.
It's worth mentioning that this is actually NRG's fourth attempt to enter the League of Legends esports scene.
The team was first formed in 2016 and underwent further restructuring in 2023 and 2024.
During this period, they reached the finals of the 2023 League of Legends World Championship, but ultimately lost to Weibo Gaming (WBG).
