Bodø/Glimt pulled off a stunning 1-2 away win against Inter Milan and eliminated them in the second leg of their 2025/26 UEFA Champions League Round of 16 play-offs at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Tuesday.

In the first half, Inter Milan launched numerous attacks on Bodø/Glimt without success. In the second half, Petter Hauge scored on a rebound, Akanji's close-range shot hit the post, and Evjen slotted home a one-on-one chance. Later, Bastoni scored, but it was too late. Ultimately, Bodø/Glimt pulled off a 1-2 away victory, eliminating Inter Milan and becoming the first Norwegian club in UEFA Champions League history to reach the Round of 16s.

First Half

In the 3rd minute, Federico Dimarco crossed from the left side of the box, where Francesco Pio Esposito rose high and attempted with a header in the box, head the ball, however his effort went just over the crossbar.

9 minutes later, Alessandro Bastoni passes horizontally from the center of the box. Federico Dimarco quickly followed up, got the ball and took a few steps before volleying with his left foot from the right side of the box, but his shot was brilliantly tipped over the bar by Nikita Haikin.

In the 28th minute, Inter Milan won a corner opportunity. Dimarco took the corner by crossing it into the box, where Davide Frattesi rose high and attempted with a header from a very close distance in the box, however his effort was saved by Haikin.

2 minutes later, Nicolò Barella crossed into the box from the right wing, where Pio Esposito attempted with a header in the box, however his effort flew high and went out of the pitch.

In the 33rd minute, Bastoni made a straight pass from the left wing. Piotr Zieliński quickly followed up, got the ball, cut insides and took a few steps before taking a right-footed long shot from outside the penalty area, but his shot went just slightly wide of the right post.

3 minutes later, Fredrik Sjøvold crossed into the box from the right wing, where Håkon Evjen attempted with a header in the box, however his effort was saved by Yann Sommer.

At halftime, Inter Milan and Bodø/Glimt temporarily enter the break with a goalless draw.

Second Half

Both teams switched sides as the match continued. In the 50th minute, Inter Milan earned a free kick opportunity. Dimarco took the free kick by directly taking a left-footed shot from outside the penalty area, but his attempt was saved by Haikin.

8 minutes later, Bodø/Glimt launched a deadly counter-attack. Yann Bisseck misjudged a clearance in his own back half, allowing Ole Didrik Blomberg to intercept the ball and, after taking a few steps, volleyed with his right foot from the center of the box against the outrushing Sommer. His shot was parried and cleared off not far away. Jens Petter Hauge quickly followed up and upon picking up the loose ball, slotted it home with his left-footed follow-up shot from the left side of the box. Bodø/Glimt broke the dedlock first to take a 0-1 lead! The former AC Milan Norwegian international winger scored for the second consecutive week, humiliating I Nerazzurri!

In the 69th minute, Dimarco cuts the ball back from the right side of the box. Manuel Akanji quickly followed up and upon receiving the pass,quickly volleyed with his left foot from the center of the box, but unfortunately his shot struck the bottom left corner of the post and bounced off! Inter Milan missed a golden opportunity to equalize!

Shortly after, Ange-Yoan Bonny cuts the ball back from the edge of the byline at the left side of the box. Dimarco quickly followed up and upon receiving the pass, volleyed with his left foot from the left side of the box, but his shot flew high and went out of the pitch.

In the 72nd minute, Petter Hauge crossed into the box from the right wing. Evjen quickly followed up, got the ball and dribbled into the right side of the box before volleying the ball into the bottom left corner of the net with his right foot, thereby extending Bodø/Glimt's lead to 0-2!

4 minutes later, Inter Milan earned a deadly corner opportunity. Dimarco took the corner by crossing it into the box. Bisseck headed the across and Bonny passes horizontally from the left of the box, before Alessandro Bastoni slotted the ball into the net from a very close distance in the box with a right-footed shot. Although Haikin made the save, the ball had already crossed the goal line, thus the VAR assistant referee ruled it a goal, making it 1-2 for Inter Milan!

When the final whistle is with a right-footed blown, Bodø/Glimt pulled off a stunning 1-2 (aggregate score: 2-5) away win against Inter Milan and advanced to the Round of 16s.
