Barcelona completes contract extension with Spain international center back wonderkid Pau Cubarsí..

Barcelona announced on its official website on Thursday that the club has renewed the contract of its Spain international center back wonderkid Pau Cubarsí.

According to Barça's official statement, Cubarsí has signed on a new four-and-a-half-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2029. Unlike his teammates, Cubarsí's release clause remains at €500 million.

About Pau Cubarsí

Cubarsí, now only 18 years old, was born on January 22, 2007 in Girona, Catalonia, Spain. He is 1.84 meters tall and plays as a center back.

Cubarsí joined Girona's youth academy since he was a child. In 2018, he moved to state rivals Barcelona's famous La Masia youth academy. He began to play for Barça's B team in 2023 and completed his Barcelona first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in a Copa Del Rey match in January 2024.

Since becoming a member of the Blaugrana, Cubarsí has played 60 times for the La Liga giants in all competitions and provided 4 assists, during which he has won the Supercopa de España once with the club and is also the youngest defender in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals history.
