Gen.G tops the 2025 League of Legends eSports World Cup

The 2025 League of Legends Esports World Cup came to a successful conclusion. The Korean powerhouse Gen.G defeated the Chinese team Anyone's Legend (AL) 3-2 in the finals and won the championship and a prize of US$600,000.
This was also Gen.G's 26th consecutive win in the series, continuing their undefeated streak. Both teams advanced to the knockout stage as seeds, with Gen.G easily defeating FlyQuest in the quarterfinals and then defeating European powerhouse G2 Esports 2-1 in the semifinals.
Anyone's Legend defeated Hanwha Life Esports in the quarterfinals and swept T1 2-0 in the semifinals, successfully avenging their defeat in the Mid-Season Invitational.
In the finals, Gen.G quickly won the first two games with excellent map control and team execution. Anyone's Legend was not to be outdone and made consecutive efforts in the third and fourth games to tie the score.
In the crucial fifth game, Gen.G showed top-level operations and teamfighting capabilities, and finally ended the game in 29 minutes, winning the championship. Although Anyone's Legend lost, it still won a prize of $320,000 as the runner-up, and its performance deserves recognition.
T1 defeated G2 Esports 2-0 in the third place match, securing third place and winning $230,000 in prize money; G2 Esports ranked fourth and received $160,000.
