According to Fabrizio Romano on Tuesday, Guglielmo Vicario is expected to leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
Vicario, 29, is a 1.94-meter-tall Italian goalkeeper who has played for several Italian clubs during his career, including Udinese, Venezia, Cagliari, Perugia, and Empoli. He transferred to Tottenham Hotspur in July 2023 for €18.5 million and signed a five-year contract.
To date, Vicario has made 117 appearances for Tottenham Hotspur and won one Europa League title with the team.
According to Romano, Vicario's departure this summer is almost a done deal. Whether Tottenham avoids relegation this season or not will not change his decision to seek new challenges in the summer transfer window.
Romano further pointed out that Vicario is now ready to return to Serie A. His team is in talks with Inter Milan regarding the transfer, and negotiations are progressing smoothly.
However, no formal agreement has been reached between Inter Milan and Tottenham Hotspur. If the deal goes through, Inter Milan's goalkeeping position will see a significant adjustment: current first-choice goalkeeper Jan Sommer may seek a transfer or accept a backup role.
