Premier League – Dzekeresh scores penalty, Arsenal lose 1-2 to Bournemouth

The 32nd round of the 2025/26 Premier League season continued. Arsenal, playing at home at the Emirates Stadium, came back from a goal down to win thanks to a penalty from Dzekeresh, but then suffered another blow in the second half, ultimately losing 1-2 to Bournemouth.

Ten minutes into the match, Bournemouth launched an attack. Senesi chipped the ball over Evanilson, but as he prepared to receive the pass, Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya collected it. In the 12th minute, Arsenal striker Dzekeresh passed the ball back from the penalty area, but it was cleared by an opposing player.

In the 17th minute, Ryan Christie played a through ball, and Trüfer's cross hit Saliba, allowing Klupi to volley home and give Bournemouth a 1-0 lead. In the 20th minute, Rice took a corner, and Havertz headed the ball, but it went over the bar.

In the 26th minute, Rayan delivered a cross from the right wing, and Klupi's shot was blocked. In the 33rd minute, Arsenal attempted a counter-attack, and Rice, outside the penalty area, received a pass back from Martinelli and unleashed a long-range shot, but the ball deflected off an opposing player and went over the goal.

In the 34th minute, Arsenal attacked from a corner kick. During the scramble, Gabriel's shot touched Ryan Christie's hand, and after VAR intervention, the referee awarded Arsenal a penalty. Dzekeresh then converted the penalty, leveling the score at 1-1 for Arsenal.

In the 40th minute, James Hill made a diagonal pass, and Evanilson controlled the ball before taking a low shot from inside the penalty area. However, the shot was too weak and was caught by Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya.

In the 52nd minute of the second half, Ben White passed the ball to Rice, who took a long-range shot but it was blocked. In the 54th minute, Arsenal substituted Eze, Max Dauman, and Trossard for Havertz, Maduk, and Martinelli.

In the 64th minute, Ben White played a long pass to Dzekeresh, who then entered the penalty area and slotted the ball into the net. However, the referee ruled that Dzekeresh was offside, and the goal was disallowed. In the 68th minute, Rice received a pass from Trossard outside the penalty area and took a long-range shot, but the ball was saved by Bournemouth goalkeeper Petrovic.

In the 74th minute, Evanilson received the ball and passed it across the goal, where Alex Scott pounced and slotted it home, putting Bournemouth back in front 2-1 against Arsenal. In the 79th minute, Arsenal created an attacking opportunity. Max Doman's pass was cleared, and Dzekeresh received the ball but his chip shot went high.

In the 87th minute, Eze passed the ball across the box, and Rice received it outside the penalty area before taking a long-range shot, but the ball was blocked by an opposing player. In stoppage time of the second half, Rice delivered a cross, and Dzekeresh headed the ball towards goal, but it went wide.

Arsenal ultimately lost 1-2 to Bournemouth at home.
