James Norris, who plays for Liverpool, has been loaned to Irish club Shelbourne until the end of the season.
The 21-year-old Norris is a versatile left-back who can play in midfield and has been a part of Liverpool's youth training since the age of 9. Norris made his Liverpool first-team debut in December 2019 in the League Cup against Aston Villa.
In the 2023-24 season, Norris was loaned to Tranmere Rovers to gain valuable match experience and made 16 appearances for the team, including participation in the FA Cup and the English League Cup.
Norris has trained with Liverpool's first team this season and was on the bench in the Champions League group stage. As for the national team, Norris has represented England in many youth-level competitions.
Regarding being loaned to Shelbourne, Norris said: "I am very happy to join Shelbourne. I can't wait to start work. Under the leadership of the coach and staff, I am really excited to play here and bring more success to the club and fans."
Shelbourne manager Damien Duff is delighted with the addition of Norris, saying: "We never stand still so we are always working hard to strengthen the squad. With the addition of James I think we can now safely say we have strengthened the squad in every area."
"James has already made appearances for Liverpool but now is the time for him to go outside and develop further. He is a very attacking and technical player who can help us build up attacking play."
“I’ve loved watching him from afar and can’t wait to see him in action in front of us. There are strong links between Dublin and Liverpool and I’m sure James will feel right at home.”
