Fisher: The Trail Blazers are expected to pursue Giannis Antetokounmpo this summer and have Anthony Davis as an alternative.

According to NBA insider Jack Fisher on Saturday, the Portland Trail Blazers are expected to become Giannis Antetokounmpo's primary suitor this summer.

Due to injuries, Giannis Antetokounmpo only played 36 games for the Milwaukee Bucks this season. Even though he contributed an average of 27.6 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 5.4 assists in his limited playing time, the Bucks ultimately finished the regular season with a record of 11th in the Eastern Conference.

Multiple sources have confirmed that Giannis Antetokounmpo has requested a trade from the Bucks at least twice. The relationship between the two teams has further deteriorated after the Bucks prevented Antetokounmpo from playing while injured, leading to widespread speculation that they will part ways this summer.

Fisher understands that the Trail Blazers are currently unwilling to act as a third party in a trade, and instead strongly desire to acquire Giannis Antetokounmpo directly. They plan to use Jerami Grant's approximately $70.6 million contract as the core asset, along with draft picks and other player salaries.

However, Giannis Antetokounmpo may not see the Trail Blazers as his ideal destination. As an alternative, the Trail Blazers have listed Washington Wizards forward Anthony Davis as a target for acquisition.

Fisher further pointed out that the Trail Blazers had shown interest in Davis before he was traded from the Dallas Mavericks to the Wizards. At the time, they offered the Mavericks a trade package centered around Grant and draft picks, but the Mavericks, eager to clear salary cap space, ultimately accepted the Wizards' offer.

Since joining the Wizards in February, Davis has been sidelined due to injury. Before being traded, he played only 20 regular season games for the Mavericks, averaging 20.4 points, 11.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.7 blocks, and 1.1 steals per game.
