Jayson Tatum is confirmed to miss Game 7 due to persistent stiffness in his left knee.

May 3 - The Boston Celtics officially announced before the game that their star player Jayson Tatum will miss the crucial game against the Philadelphia 76ers due to stiffness in his left knee.

Jayson Tatum experienced discomfort during Game 6 of the previous game. The Celtics lost 93-106 to the 76ers on the road , forcing a Game 7 in the series. Tatum briefly left the game in the third quarter for treatment and did not return.

 

Celtics head coach Joe Mazura said before the game: " He came to the arena today with significant discomfort in his knee, and the medical team and I have decided that he will miss this game. "

 

With Jayson Tatum unavailable, the Celtics had to make a last-minute adjustment to their starting lineup, with Ron Harper Jr. and Baylor Sherman starting alongside Derrick White , Jaylen Brown , and Luca Garza .
