Alexis McAllister: Although we are a little disappointed with the result, we have to take this point and keep working hard

Liverpool were held to a 2-2 draw against Aston Villa in the Premier League and Alexis McAllister believes it was a tough battle.

Mohamed Salah took the lead with a goal from Diogo Jota on the half-hour mark, but Aston Villa turned the tide at half-time, with Youri Tielemans equalising and Ollie Watkins heading home. Trent Alexander-Arnold's shot was blocked, allowing Liverpool to pull one back.

Regarding the result of the game, Alexis McAllister said: "Of course this is not the best result and we are disappointed with the result. But one point is one point and we have to accept the fact and take it and move on. I believe this point will be very important in the end."

"I think it was a crazy game, maybe we didn't control the game as much as we wanted and we weren't patient enough in some moments. But they are a good team, they are very focused and very strong. We appreciate this point and now we need to keep working hard because there are many important games to come."

"I think Aston Villa have good players in midfield, strong players like John McGinn. It was a difficult game but we expected it from the beginning. I think we played the way we played and a point is a point."

Alexis McAllister also said: "We are very happy with the performance of Mohamed Salah because we know how important he is to the team. We hope to help him get as many goals and assists as possible. Hopefully we can continue to work hard and continue to create opportunities for Mohamed Salah to receive the pass."

"Next we have games against Manchester City and Newcastle United. These two games are very important for the team. We must be prepared because we don't have much time to recover. The most important thing now is to rest and prepare for the next game. These two games will be very difficult games."
