Because Wen Ban Yama season reimbursement, the Spurs and 32-year-old veteran Biyombo renewed the second 10-day contract

The San Antonio Spurs announced Friday that they have re-signed Bismack Biyombo to a second 10-day contract.

Bismack Biyombo, 32, plays center and entered the NBA as the seventh pick in 2011. He first played for the Charlotte Hornets, and then moved to the Phoenix Suns, Memphis Grizzlies, Oklahoma City Thunder and other teams.

In February 2025, Biyombo signed a 10-day contract with the Spurs after leaving the Thunder. So far, he has played in three regular season games for the Spurs, averaging 3.3 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1 assist per game, with a shooting percentage of 83.3%.

For the Spurs, Biyombo is expected to fill the vacancy left by Victor Wembanyama due to injury. The 21-year-old Wembanyama was diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis in his right shoulder and was officially ruled out for the season. NBA teams can sign a maximum of two 10-day contracts with players, and then they must decide whether to cut the player or convert it to a formal contract. Biyombo's situation is more likely to be the latter.

In the just-concluded NBA regular season, the Spurs lost to the Pistons 110-125 at home. Despite this, Biyombo still received high praise from head coach Mitch Johnson: "He is a true professional player and a mature player. He sets the tone for the game and performs well. This is exactly what we have been looking for all season - screens, pressure and rebounding, and he performs particularly well in these aspects."

"He's been doing these things for years. Even if he was signed as a free agent, you wouldn't be surprised that he was able to show his ability right away."
