Ruud van Nistelrooy: We have to pick ourselves up, keep hope and keep fighting

Leicester City had a very disappointing night in their match against Brentford as the team lost 0-4 to their opponent.

Leicester City manager Ruud van Nistelrooy reflected on the match and felt that his team had started well and that if they had taken their early chances, the outcome of the game might have been different. However, the tide soon turned in Brentford's favour and the game was won.

Ruud van Nistelrooy said: "We started well and we should have taken the first three chances of the game so that we could have taken the lead, but they scored three goals in their first three chances. I can't deny that in terms of level, there is a big gap between us and Brentford when we have the ball and without the ball."

"They were way ahead of us, which is really commendable. We didn't play our best in this game and the gap was too big. But what I know is that the players tried their best. Nevertheless, we all have to take responsibility for this unsatisfactory performance."

Leicester City made a few changes at half-time and later brought in Facundo Bonanotte in an attempt to find a spark somewhere, but it didn't work and Ruud van Nistelrooy said the team was looking for a way to change their fortunes and turn around their current form.

Ruud van Nistelrooy said: "They continued to attack but the game was over. They controlled the game and we couldn't put any pressure on to create chances."

"However, we must remain hopeful and not give up easily because of this setback. We all have to take responsibility for this defeat, not just the players but myself and everyone at Leicester City Football Club."

"We are in a difficult situation at the moment. We performed well against strong teams. We will treat every game with a positive attitude and we want to prove it again. Unfortunately, we didn't even make a game, which really hurts us. We must cheer up and move on. Next we will start preparing for the next game, and we will definitely be able to recover from the defeat."
