Kevin Durant believes they didn't play at their best and hopes to do better in the future

The Phoenix Suns lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves 98-116 at home. The team suffered a disastrous defeat this season and the team's state is very low.  

After the game, forward Kevin Durant said: "We disappointed the fans. I hope we can do better." The Phoenix Suns lost 11 of 14 games and their record this season fell to 28 wins and 33 losses.  

The Phoenix Suns are four games behind the Dallas Mavericks for the final spot in the Western Conference play-in tournament and will need to pull off a miracle in their final 21 games of the season to have a chance to make the playoffs.  

This is not what the Phoenix Suns, who started with championship aspirations and a well-paid, accomplished roster, expected. But after an 8-1 start to the season, the Phoenix Suns are now 20-31 since Nov. 13.  

“We have to keep moving forward, but there’s no doubt that with our ranking and the situation we’re in, we realize we have to do something to change it,” head coach Mike Budenholzer said.  

The Minnesota Timberwolves swept the Phoenix Suns in the first round of last season's playoffs. In the three regular season games this year, the Minnesota Timberwolves won all of them.  

Kevin Durant said: "When adversity comes, our entire team becomes a little erratic, which is really difficult to deal with. In addition, the mistakes that occurred in the game led to our loss. They did not overwhelm us on the rebounds, but we passed the ball to them."
