Ibrahima Cornet thinks winning in Paris feels special

Ibrahima Konet recalled the match against Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of the Champions League last 16 and said it was a special night.  

In the final moments of the game, substitutes Xavi Elliott and Darwin Nunez teamed up to lock the score and successfully win the game. Ibrahima Cornet is a Parisian who is very satisfied with the result of the game. However, he also said that if Liverpool wants to enter the quarter-finals, they still have a lot of work to do.  

Ibrahima Cornet said: "PSG is a great team and one of the best teams in Europe. Before the game, we knew they would have more possession, but fortunately we won. It feels great."  

“However, when we play the second leg at home, we need to be alert and focused because they are very strong. But we have to focus on the next game against Southampton and then think about the home game.”  

When asked if it was difficult to adjust to the opposition having more possession, Ibrahima Konet replied: "Sometimes in the Champions League it's like that, the other team is a great team and they dominate the game but in the end we win and everyone only remembers who won the game."  

"We suffered a bit in this game but we just have to accept it. We will keep trying to improve and keep running until the end. That's why we scored in the end and we are very happy."  

Ibrahima Konet believes it is important to show the quality of the Liverpool team again. He said: "Every one of us needs to persevere until the end of the season. I know some players don't get many minutes, but like in this game, we need everyone. So we need to say well done to them and thank them.  

"Even though they haven't played for the team in the last few games, they are still focused. When they play, they score goals. I'm happy for Darwin Nunez because I remember he was criticized a lot against Aston Villa because he missed a good chance. Darwin Nunez played in this game and we won the game because of him."  

"It was a really special experience for me to win in Paris, because we played against Paris Saint-Germain and many of my friends were there with our fans. I am very happy and we will recover and move forward again."
