Hanwha Life Esports and Team Liquid got off to a good start in First Stand

The 2025 League of Legends First Stand event officially kicked off in Seoul, South Korea this week. Hanwha Life Esports and Team Liquid defeated their opponents respectively in the game on Monday and got off to a good start.
The event is hosted by Riot Games, with five teams competing for a total prize of $1 million. The final champion will be born in the finals on Sunday and receive a reward of $300,000. The competition adopts a single round-robin BO3 (best three-game system) group stage, and the top four teams advance to the knockout stage, which is a BO5 (best five-game system).
In the opening match, Hanwha Life Esports swept Top Esports 2-0, with the first game taking 29 minutes (blue side) and the second game taking 32 minutes (red side). Geon-woo "Zeka" Kim from South Korea was named MVP. In another match, Team Liquid defeated Karmine Corp 2-1, and South Korean player Yong-in "CoreJJ" Jo was named the best player of the match.
