Rodgers says Celtics will have a completely different energy this week

Brendan Rodgers expects this weekend’s Scottish Cup tie to be very different to the last time out against Hibernian.

Last month, Celtic lost 1-2 to Hibernian in the league, having just finished their Champions League match against Bayern Munich.

“I think the context of this game is completely different than the one a few weeks ago.”

"We put all our focus on this game this week and the energy will be completely different. I expect it to be a tough game but, equally, I expect Hibernian to have a very difficult game."

"We had just played a European game and Hibernian started well and scored within a few minutes, which gave them confidence. Then they scored another goal before half-time.

"In the second half, we were in complete control of the game. I think we equalised in the 82nd minute, which could have changed the course and outcome of the game, but it didn't happen."

"That game showed me a very organized team. Their current state is completely different from the beginning of the season. Their tactical execution is very strong. They also have some very threatening players in the team."
