League of Legends First Stand is about to start, top teams from five major regions compete for glory

The new international tournament of League of Legends, First Stand, is about to kick off. This first cross-region match of the year will officially kick off the international competition of the 2025 season. This is the first official operation of the First Stand tournament since its launch in 2024. The top teams in each major region will compete fiercely for honor and a good start to the season.

First Stand is the first international tournament of the 2025 League of Legends season, featuring champions from the five major esports regions: Korea (LCK) , China (LPL), Americas (LTA, formerly LCS & CBLOL), Europe, Middle East and Africa (LEC) and Asia Pacific (LCP).

This event is not only a competition between divisions, but also the first appearance of each major team before the World Championship. Winning the First Stand will not only improve the team's international ranking, but also establish their competitive position in the 2025 season and set the tone for the entire season.

First Stand 2025 participating teams: Hanwha Life Esports (South Korea, LCK Cup 2025 champion), TOP Esports (China, LPL 2025 Season 1 Playoffs champion), Team Liquid (Americas, LTA 2025 Season 1 Playoffs champion), Karmine Corp (EMEA, LEC 2025 Winter Playoffs champion) and CTBC Flying Oyster (APAC, qualified from the LCP 2025 season opening qualifier).

This year's First Stand will adopt a single round-robin BO1 competition system (Round Robin) + a single-elimination BO5 competition system (Knockout). The Fearless Draft selection mode will also be introduced during the competition, which will limit teams from reusing heroes and make tactics and BP strategies more diverse.
