Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed that Bukayo Saka has a good chance of returning to action after the international break. The 23-year-old England international underwent surgery on a hamstring injury he sustained during Arsenal's 5-1 win over Crystal Palace in December.
Arteta previously said that Saka's recovery was progressing well. After Arsenal beat Chelsea 1-0, the Spanish coach was asked if Saka could return in April. He confirmed to Sky Sports: "Yes, he has a great chance."
Arsenal will play against Fulham in the Premier League on April 1, and then play away against Everton on April 5. On April 8, they will host Real Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals.
In an interview last Friday, Arteta talked about Saka's recovery: "He will stay at the training base and hope to get more contact with the ball during this period."
"That means he can start training with passing, shooting, running and so on. He has been doing a lot of individual training on the pitch."
"Next, we need to arrange more competitive training sessions for him with his teammates and see how he responds."
"He is getting closer and closer to returning and making good progress. We will see how he trains with the team and assess how quickly he can get back to his best."
For Arsenal, Saka's return will be a major benefit, especially in the crucial stage of their bid for the Premier League title and the Champions League knockout stage.
