Rasmus Heilung thanks Peter Schmeichel for his support

Manchester United striker Rasmus Heilung has revealed that since joining Manchester United, the club's legendary goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel has always given him the support he needed to quickly adapt to life at Manchester United.

The 22-year-old Heilon transferred to Manchester United from Atalanta in July 2023. In Manchester United's recent Premier League match against Leicester City 3-0, Heilon scored his first goal in 2025 to help the team win.

With the international match day approaching, Heijlong has been selected for the Danish national team. In an interview with Danish media, Heijlong mentioned Schmeichel: "Peter would help me from time to time and listen to me, whether in good times or bad times."

"I wouldn't consider him a father figure but he's certainly been a big help because he's been in similar situations before. He knows what it means to be a Danish player at Manchester United and it's been great to have someone to talk to."

In addition to Heijlong's selection for the Danish national team, Christian Eriksen and Patrick Doger were also selected for the Danish national team. Heijlong added that Eriksen and Doger gave him a lot of help, and of course if anyone needs Heijlong's help, he will not hesitate to provide support.

Denmark will face Portugal in the first leg of the UEFA Nations League quarter-finals, and Heijlong could face Manchester United teammates Diogo Dalot and Bruno Fernandes.
