Son Heung-min admits it has been a challenging season but says he is in top form

Tottenham Hotspur striker Son Heung-min insists he is in the peak form of his career after his game time was reduced in recent days, a decision made by manager Angel Postecoglou.  

Son Heung-min, who was speaking during his international break for South Korea, admitted this season has been challenging but he has been at his best. Son has been on the bench for Spurs' last three Premier League games.  

Son Heung-min said: "Although I went through a difficult period at the club, I was very happy when I returned to Korea and saw the support of Korean fans. They brought me unlimited motivation. My physical condition is really good and I believe I am in the best condition."  

"I think Ange Postecoglu reduced my playing time because there were too many games recently and he gave me enough rest. Therefore, I feel good now and will try my best to stay in the best condition."  

Son Heung-min has been criticized recently for his performance, but the player's performance in terms of goals and assists remains at a high level. So far this season, Son Heung-min has scored 7 goals and 9 assists in the Premier League, which is not much different from his previous data.  

In fact, in the nine seasons since Son Heung-min first played for Tottenham Hotspur in the 2015-16 season, Son Heung-min's data has only dropped once, that is in the 2022-23 season. At that time, Son Heung-min's number of goals per 90 minutes was 0.50.
