Rennes completes the signing of Lens' France international goalkeeper Brice Samba..

Rennes announced on its official website on Wednesday that the club has signed France international goalkeeper Brice Samba from Lens.

According to Rennes' official statement, Samba has signed on a long-term contract four-and-a-half-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2029.

After completing his joining procedures, Samba, who was interviewed by Rennes' official website for the first time, said: "It feels great because I have always wanted to join Rennes. I am very happy to be here to meet my new teammates and start training. I have joined a strong, stable and recognized club."

"Brittans are proud and strong. I am very happy to come to Rennes. When I was young, I often played against Rennes and often came to Roazhon Park, which is famous in Ligue 1. I played some very complicated games there and I can't wait to get to know the fans."

"I hope to be decisive as much as possible. I am determined to play on the pitch, which is why I got into the French national team, and I hope to continue in this form. It was also very nice to see Seko (Fofana) again, we talked a lot recently. I am obviously looking forward to reestablishing our connection, which was our advantage in the past, and it will be extraordinary to repeat what we have done. "

Samba, 30 years old, was born on April 25, 1994 in Linzolo, Republic of Congo. He is 1.87 meters tall and plays as a goalkeeper. He has dual nationalities of the Republic of Congo and France.

Samba joined Le Havre's youth academy at the age of 12 and completed his Le Havre first-team debut in a Coupe de France match in August 2012.

After leaving the club at the end of his contract in the summer of 2017, Samba moved to Caen as a free agent.

In August 2019, Samba joined Nottingham Forest for £1.8 million.

During his three-year spell with the Forests, Samba won the EFL Championship promotion play-offs once.

In July 2022, Samba joined Lens for 12 million.

During the two-and-a-half-year spell with Lens, Samba played 96 times for the Ligue 1 club across all competitions, conceded 96 goals and kept 37 clean sheets.
