Spain coach Luis De La Fuente promises to go all out in the second leg

The second leg of the UEFA Nations League quarter-final is about to begin, with Spain hosting the Netherlands, and coach Luis De La Fuente has promised to go all out to win the second leg.

In the first leg, Spain tied the Netherlands 2-2 away. In the match, Spain was once behind the 10-man Netherlands team, but Mikel Merino scored in the final stoppage time to help Spain end the first leg in a draw.

In the pre-match press conference for the second leg, De La Fuente said: "This team has excellent players, but we also focus on values. I have always believed that if you want to manage the locker room well, you must have excellent people."

"To take the pain and to work through it, that's what this team has. I can't imagine football without pain. This kind of pain is healthy, not just in sports, but in everything."

"It was strange, we had more possession than the Netherlands and had more shots... but we felt like they were in control of the game. The Netherlands are a great team and it's normal for them to take the initiative at certain moments."

Spain will play the second leg at home, where they are currently unbeaten in 22 games. De La Fuente hopes to maintain this form, saying: "The problem with winning is that once you get used to it, it's hard to keep it sharp."

"We hope to continue this competitive state, but we also know that every day will bring a tougher challenge. The opponents know us better and they are all very good. Tomorrow's game can be regarded as a European Cup final."

"It's going to be a tough game and it's only going to get harder. We want to be in a position to win. We're going to try to win and keep winning."
