Dutch e-sports powerhouse Liquid announced on Friday through its official X (Twitter) that the team has decided to part ways with its Counter Strike 2 (CS2) coach mithR.
According to Liquid's official tweet, the team is very grateful for mithR's past contributions, and his passion as well as sense of delivering the mission will be unforgettable. At the same time, everyone at Liquid also wish MithR all the best in the future.
After mithR left the team, analyst DeMars DeRover will be temporarily promoted to the role of interim coach while the team looks for a new suitable candidate.
About mithR
The 35-year-old mithR was born in Denmark on November 16, 1989 and has dual Danish and Norwegian nationality.
mithR was a full-time professional player of Counter Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) from 2013 to 2016. He retired in 2016, but was occasionally registered as a substitute player for many teams he coached.
After retiring, mithR began to coach Tricked Academy.
In September of the following year, mithR moved to ALTERNATE aTTaX.
During this spell, he won the 99Damage Liga twice and the Copenhagen Championship 2017 with the team.
In February 2019, mithR became the coach of North.
During this spell, he won the third place in the 2019 Berlin Minor Championship held by Valve with the team.
In July 2020, mithR served as the coach of Renegades.
While at Renegades, mithR won the ESL ANZ Championship Season 11 with the team.
From October 2021 to May 2024, mithR served as the coach of MOUZ and Apeks successively.
During this spell, he helped the former reach the top 14 in the 2021 Stockholm PGL Major.
In July 2024, mithR was appointed as Liquid's coach.
During this spell, he led the team to the knockout stage in the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 Opening Stage, but lost to Spirit 0:2 and being eliminated in the quarter finals.
