Italian Cup-Abraham and Calhanoglu scored successively, AC Milan tied with Inter Milan 1-1

In the first leg of the 2024/25 Italian Cup semi-final, Inter Milan and AC Milan faced off at the San Siro Stadium. The two sides ended up in a 1-1 draw, and the second leg will be held on April 23.

First Half

Inter Milan and AC Milan attacked and defended each other after the opening, but neither scored a goal. In the 9th minute, Marcus Thuram knocked back a triangle from the right side of the penalty area, and Joaquin Correa's low shot was confiscated by Maignan. In the 21st minute, Calhanoglu made a free kick from the right side of the front court, and De Vrij's close-range header was cleared by Abraham on the goal line. In the 26th minute, Reinders made a diagonal pass to the left in the front court, and Leo got rid of Damian and Bisek and shot hard, but was blocked by Josep.

In the 37th minute, Reinders sent a through ball to Abraham, but Josep rushed out to clear the ball. In the 41st minute, Calhanoglu took a free kick in the frontcourt and shot directly at the goal, but Maignan made a great save. In the 45th minute, Thuram's shot from the left side of the penalty area was blocked by Yusuf Fofana, and then Flatesi headed the ball to score, but Maignan saved it sideways.

Second Half

In the second half, AC Milan quickly took the lead: in the 47th minute, Fofana sent a straight pass from the front of the penalty area, and Abraham shot low into the net to open the scoring. However, Inter Milan did not give up after losing the ball. In the 50th minute, Barrera cut inside and shot, but was saved by Maignan, and Damian followed up with a shot that went wide to the left. In the 67th minute, Correa made a triangle pass from the left side of the penalty area, and Calhanoglu suddenly shot from the top of the arc and scored. With Calhanoglu's key goal, Inter Milan successfully tied the score to 1-1.

After that, both sides attacked each other, but neither of them could change the score. In the 80th minute, Walker made a mistake in clearing the ball in front of the goal, and Zalewski's close-range shot was blocked by Maignan. In the 84th minute, Thuram passed the ball to the left in the frontcourt, and Mkhitaryan's volley was saved by Maignan over the crossbar. In the 86th minute, Fofana sent a diagonal pass from the front of the penalty area, and Leo's shot from the far corner missed the right. In the 90th minute, Calhanoglu's direct free kick in the frontcourt was slightly higher.

At the end of the game, Inter Milan and AC Milan shook hands and agreed to a 1-1 draw.
