Liverpool officially poached Manchester City's Chief Data Analyst Laurie Shaw..

Liverpool ECHO's resident renowned English Liverpool team correspondent Paul Gorst, exclusively reported on Monday through the news website This is Anfield, which is run by Liverpool's official fan organization in the UK, that Manchester City's English Chief Data Analyst Laurie Shaw has been officially poached to Liverpool.

According to Gorst's report, unlike ordinary transfers, Shaw was not appointed just to analyze the team's sporting data, but his position was actually to make important analysis for Liverpool's financial and profit growth data at the same time.

Therefore, to be precise, it was not the Liverpool club management who had hired him, but the Premier League leaders' owners, Fenway Sports Group (FSG).

Gorst also revealed that FSG had already planned to poach Shaw as early as the end of last year, and only started to negotiate with Shaw when they began to prepare to acquire the Spanish Segunda Division club Malaga as the Reds' potential sister club a few weeks ago to officially start a multi-club ownership business model.

Shaw also reached an agreement with Liverpool within a week. He is expected to officially take office after completing the handover with Manchester City owners, City Football Group (CFG) within a few weeks.

It is worth mentioning that Shaw will become the second former Manchester City behind-the-scenes contributor poached to Liverpool this season after David Breen, an Irish physiotherapist and the country's former legendary hurling forward who is also an national representative athlete.
