Aston Villa complete contract extensions with U21s international wonderkids Lamare Bogarde and Rory Wilson..


Aston Villa announced on its official website on Monday that the club has extended the contracts of its Netherlands U21s international defensive midfielder Lamare Bogarde and Scotland U21s international center forward Rory Wilson.


According to Villa's official statement, Bogarde and Wilson have both signed on a new long-term four-year contract with the club which runs until the summer of 2029.


It is worth mentioning that The Athletic's resident  renowned English transfer journalist David Ornstein, once broke the news that Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United, RB Leipzig and Bayern Munich are all interested in signing Wilson, whose contract was originally scheduled to expire this summer, so this contract extension is definitely good news for Aston Villa.


About Lamare Bogarde


Lamare Bogarde, who is only 21 years old, was born in Rotterdam, the Netherlands on January 5, 2004. He is 1.83 meters tall and primarily plays as a defensive midfielder. He can also play as a center back and right back. He has dual nationality of the Netherlands and Suriname. His uncle Winston Bogarde is a former Chelsea Netherlands international defender.


Bogarde joined Feyenoord's youth academy since he was a child. In 2020, he joined Aston Villa's youth academy and completed his Aston Villa first-team debut in the English FA Cup match against Liverpool in January of the following year.


On the 2023 winter transfer window deadlien day, Bogarde was loaned-out to Bristol Rovers for a period of one year.


After returning to the club following the end of his loan spell in the summer of 2024, Bogarde officially became a member of Aston Villa's first-team.


Since becoming a member of the Villans, Bogarde has played 17 times for Aston Villa in all competitions so far, without scoring any goals or providing any assists.


About Rory Wilson


Rory Wilson, now only 19 years old, was born on January 5, 2006 in Girvan, Scotland. He is 1.83 meters tall and plays as a center forward.


Wilson joined the Rangers youth academy at the age of 8 and has been playing for the Rangers B-team since 2021.


In July 2022, Wilson joined the Aston Villa youth academy for £350,000 and was promoted to Villa U21s team the following summer.


Since becoming a member of the Villans, Wilson has played 54 times for the U21s team of the Premier League powerhouse in all competitions, scoring 37 goals and providing 5 assists. During which he has won the FA Youth Cup once with the club and has completed two hat-tricks in two matches against Liverpool's U21s team.
