Ancelotti: "We have to do everything to try and turn things around"

Real Madrid lost 0-3 to Arsenal in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals. Coach Ancelotti promised to do everything possible to try to turn the tables in the second leg.

Neither team scored in the first half of the game, but in the second half, Declan Rice scored twice and Mikel Merino scored a goal to help Arsenal win the game. In the post-match interview, Ancelotti said: "This is a difficult loss. We did not expect such a result."

"In the first half, we performed well overall and our tactics were well executed. However, after losing two set pieces in a row, the team declined both mentally and physically. The performance in the last 30 minutes of the game was very bad and we failed to show Real Madrid's usual ability to bounce back."

"The whole game can be divided into two stages. Before the score was 0-0, I was satisfied with the team's performance, but after falling behind, the team's response was really disappointing. We must do everything we can to try to turn the tables."

"It's a long shot but we can't give up. Let's see if we can create a miracle. After tonight it felt like there was almost no chance, but football is unpredictable. Who would have thought Arsenal would score two free kicks? It was tough but the Bernabeu has witnessed more incredible comebacks."

Ancelotti acknowledged Arsenal's strength and said: "Arsenal played very well today and they were better than us in many aspects. We have to be honest about this. Although we performed well in the first 60 minutes, especially in the first half, the opponent did better."
