Reims announced on its official website on Monday that the club has signed IFK Sirius' Sweden U21s international center back wonderkid Malcolm Jeng.
According to the Ligue 1 club's official statement of the French Ligue 1 club, Jeng has signed on a long-term four-and-a-half-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2029. At the same time, he will also wear the No. 31 jersey.
About Malcolm Jeng
Malcolm Jeng, who is only 19 years old, was born on March 9, 2005 in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden. He is 1.9 meters tall and plays as a center back. He has dual Swedish and Senegalese citizenship.
It is worth mentioning that although Jallo Tang, the director of the Chinese genealogy research institution My China Roots, claimed the player to have Chinese ancestry, he actually has no Chinese ancestry. The Jeng in his surname is in Senegalese Wolof language, not the Chinese surname Zheng/Cheng.
Jeng played for the youth academy of IFK Haninge when he was young. In 2021, he moved to the IFK Sirius youth academy and completed his IFK Sirius first-team debut in a Swedish Cup match in March 2023.
In his nearly two-year spell at Blåsvart, Jeng played 52 times for the Swedish Allsvenskan club in all competitions and assisted once.
