Brazilian CS2 team ODDIK announced on Thursday that it would demote rifler João Guedes (ID: matios) to the bench starting today.
The roster adjustment occurred after ODDIK participated in the group stage of the 2025 PGL Astana. The statement read: "After consultation between the two parties, matios will be transferred to the ODDIK bench. In the past two years, he has created a lot of history in the ODDIK jersey, participated in many events, accumulated rich experience, and left many precious memories."
"Thank you for everything, Geddes! We wish you the best for the future."
Matios then added that it was his own initiative to step down to the bench: "I took the initiative to request to be transferred to the ODDIK bench. Although the results in Astana seemed good, I have not been able to perform at a satisfactory level, which has affected me. After arriving in Brazil, my role has changed a bit. Considering that I may not be able to adapt, which will affect the team and my own development, I decided to switch to the bench."
“Thank you to everyone at ODDIK, especially the organization, staff and teammates, for the time we spent together.”
"Now is the time to reset and find yourself again."
The 23-year-old matios has played for several Brazilian teams including ECHO, Stars Horizon, SWS, Sharks, B4, etc. He officially joined ODDIK in July 2023. So far, he has played in 748 maps and 17,682 rounds in various teams, harvested 11,532 kills, and has an average rating of 1.03.
There is no news about matios' successor. With matios's demotion, ODDIK's current lineup is as follows:
Commander/Sniper: Adriano Cerrato (ID: WOOD7)
Rifleman: Felipe Martins (ID: pancc)
Rifleman: Joao Maia (ID: naitte)
Rifleman: Italo Meinberg (ID: ksloks)
Coach: Caio Coutinho (ID: CX1)
Substitute: Victor Lapassi (ID: togs)
Substitute: Joao Guedes (ID: matios)
