Valve announced on its official website on Monday that it would cancel the Major Regional Qualifiers (MRQ) system for the Starladder Counter Strike Budapest Major.

According to Valve's official statement, one of the goals of the VRS ranking system is to "integrate community events with the Major event system." As an alternative, all 32 teams that have qualified for the Starladder Counter Strike Budapest Major will be invited based on the Valve Regional Standings (VRS).

Last week, Starladder announced on its official website that the MRQs for the Budapest Major will be held online in Europe, Asia and America from October 16 to 19.
