Mainz 05 completes the signing of United States international defender Lennard Maloney from Heidenheim..

Mainz 05 announced on its official website on Tuesday that the club has signed United States international defender Lennard Maloney from Heidenheim.

According to Mainz's official statement, Maloney has signed on a three-and-a-half-year contract with the club which runs until the summer of 2028, and he will also wear the No. 15 jersey.

After completing his joining procedures, Maloney, who was interviewed by the Mainz official website for the first time, said: "From the playing style to the overall lineup, Mainz 05 is a perfect fit for me."

"Sometimes, you only need to meet the sports management and the head coach once to know that you will get along well. This is indeed the case here. I had a good feeling from the beginning. Now, I look forward to getting to know my new teammates, fans and city. As a Die Nullfünfer, I am also very happy to experience the MEWA Arena. I am sure that Mainz will be difficult to beat."
