The Wuhan eStarPro team announced on Thursday that it had found its former jungler Xu Ruoyu (ID: Xiran), who was suspected of committing suicide, with the assistance of the police.
In the early morning hours of August 14th, Beijing time, Xiran posted on Weibo, stating, "By the time this post is published, I will no longer be alive." He expressed his hope to donate a kidney to his father. He also detailed his personal struggles, including his father's cardiovascular disease and uremia, his family's financial difficulties, his repeated failed tryouts, his current reliance on power-playing, and his long-standing struggles with depression, anxiety, and somatization.
Wuhan eStarPro subsequently called the police at 1:16 a.m. and began a search with them around Changfeng Street in Wuhan's Qiaokou District. They eventually found Xiran in a hotel and sent him to the hospital, while also issuing a statement explaining the situation.
The announcement read: "To all friends who care about Xiran, we are urgently updating you on the latest developments. Currently, the club has found Xiran with the assistance of the police. Club staff are accompanying him to the hospital, and his family and friends will also be rushing to the hospital to provide care.
Xiran previously played for the club and worked diligently with us. After the incident, we immediately located the player's relatives and close friends and assisted in reporting the incident to the police.
While searching for Xiran, we learned that he had experienced some extremely distressing and anxious circumstances since leaving the club. The club will continue to offer unconditional assistance to Xiran, hoping to help him overcome these challenges.
