Jusuf Nurkic was moved to the bench and admitted that life is unfair

Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkic is unhappy with his current situation and admits that life is not fair.

The 30-year-old Nurkic joined the Phoenix Suns in 2023. This season, Nurkic started 23 games, but was moved to the bench in early January and has not played since January 7.

Recently, Nurkic talked about his relationship with head coach Mike Budenholzer in an interview. He said: "We have no relationship. For me, it's just trying to do everything I can with a professional attitude, train hard, and be ready to deal with anything that may happen at any time."

"But I'm not going to cause chaos or bring problems to this team, they're in enough chaos already. I'm just trying to be as professional as possible and do my best for other goals."

Nurkic found it difficult to understand why he was transferred to the bench. He said: "It's hard to understand why. As you said, I have always tried to meet their requirements of me. I play my role, no matter what it is. But in the final analysis, this is the NBA."

During the period when Nurkic did not start, Budenhall used three other centers, namely Mason Plumlee, Nick Richards and rookie Oso Iguodaro.

Although they took away Nurkic's playing time, Nurkic did not take his anger out on them and showed tolerance and generosity. He said: "I am very happy that Budenholzer found a player he likes and let him play. I think it is a new thing for him to rotate 4 centers."

"I think it's a sustainable approach, and that's the NBA. I have nothing against Knicks, and I'm willing to help anywhere I can, but I'm glad they found a guy they wanted to play."

Because Nurkic is in trouble now, he thinks he will be traded before the February 6 trade deadline, and he is ready. "When one door closes, another door will eventually open, sooner or later," Nurkic said. "That's how it is. Life is not fair."
