Sky Sports' renowned Italian transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, has refuted fake rumours claiming that Manchester City "hopes" to sign Eintracht Frankfurt's Egypt international forward Omar Marmoush and Atalanta's Brazil international defensive midfielder Ederson to "turn around their poor season" through his personal paid column on Thursday.
Romano refuted in his column that Manchester City has never intended to strengthen their forward position, thus rumours about Marmoush and the Cityzens are completely fake.
He clarified that there has always been only one Premier League club that is paying close attention to Marmoush, and that club is Liverpool, but the Reds has never made any approach with Frankfurt or the player.
Nottingham Forest has also never made an offer for Marmoush as the fake news say.
Similarly, Manchester City's arch-rivals Manchester United have no official plans to bring in Marmoush during the winter transfer window because of the risk of violating the Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR). The Red Devils must sell as many players as possible before considering whether to bring in new players, which he had just reported a few days ago.
Meanwhile, although Romano confirmed that Manchester City may consider bringing in a defensive midfielder, the Cityzens is not 100% sure to implement this plan.
He said that he has reported it hundreds of times, that one should not fabricate various transfer rumours based on Rodri's serious season-ending injury. Obviously, some people have seen that some readers will always be fooled no matter what, hence they deliberately linked Ederson's name with Manchester City, just to clickbait.
It is worth mentioning that all football fans know that all foreign players from non-EU member states must accumulate 75% of their appearances for their national team within 2 years, and their national team must be ranked in the top 120 of the FIFA national team co-effiecient ranking. At the same time, whether their performance in the games of their clubs meets the standards must also be comprehensively considered before they can obtain FIFA's transfer certificate so that they can move to the Premier League.
Although Ederson has performed very well in the past, the La Dea star has only played for the Brazil national team twice in the past two years, and both times were just international friendly matches. Based on this alone, he is not eligible to transfer to Manchester City. You doesn't even know this common sense but yet you still has the nerve to spread rumours. Don't you have any shame?!
Upon verification, the source of the fake rumours which claimed that Manchester City "hopes" to sign Marmoush and Ederson from Frankfurt and Atalanta respectively to "turn around their poor season" actually does not come from the Daily Mail at all, but the regular representative of our website's "Daily Slap in the Face Party", the UK's extremely notorious British media outlet The Sun!
