The semifinals of the 2025 League of Legends World Championship have concluded, with South Korean powerhouse T1 sweeping China's LPL representative Top Esports (TES) 3-0 to advance to the finals.
This marks T1's fourth consecutive year reaching the World Championship finals, where they will face fellow LCK side KT Rolster for the title and aim for an unprecedented three-peat.
T1's performance fluctuated during the group stage. Although they lost to CTBC Flying Oyster and Gen.GG, they rebounded strongly in the later stages and defeated 100 Thieves and Movistar KOI cleanly with a 2-0 score, stabilizing their progress.
After entering the knockout stage, T1 demonstrated their dominance, defeating Anyone's Legend in a five-game battle in the quarterfinals to keep their hopes of defending their title alive.
Facing the red-hot TES, T1 demonstrated unshakeable dominance. The first game saw a stalemate in the early game, but T1 established an advantage in the mid-game through precise resource control and teamwork, ultimately securing their first victory with a steady push.
In the second game, T1 displayed excellent offense and defense, with their star marksman Gumayusi unleashing his full firepower with Kai'Sa, leading the team to a 25-8 kill lead and securing another victory. In the third game, although TES attempted a comeback, T1 capitalized on their weaknesses and launched a series of counterattacks, ultimately securing the win with a score of 34-15.
This victory not only marked T1's 13th BO5 win against an LPL team, but also reaffirmed their absolute dominance on the world stage. Next, T1 will face KT Rolster in the finals, striving for a three-peat.
